Supporting the case for safe Nuclear Transport

MMI Engineering have experience in the application of modelling tools to assess the behaviour of radioactive waste packages in normal transport and subject to fire or impact.

Our work is used to support the package safety cases for authorizing transport by demonstrating safe containment  in normally ventilated environments and under the extreme conditions generated by accident events.

The MMI team maintain licenses for fluid flow analysis (Fluent - CFX), thermal and stress Analysis (ANSYS), non linear dynamic and impact analysis (Abaqus), Fire and Explosion (KFX and Flacs) which can all be used as required to support the arguments for safe transport.
