Our Applied Science Practice (AS) has specialised expertise in solid and fluid dynamics, materials science, acoustics, risk assessment, computational simulation methods, data science and machine learning. We develop state of the art scientific and engineering methods and apply them to real world problems.
You will join our Applied Science team where we use our expert knowledge to develop technical and bespoke solutions for our clients. The role is dependent upon the experience and skillset of the applicant but will require supporting projects across a range of disciplines, including structural dynamics, technical safety and thermo-fluids.
Recent example activities include:
• Blast analysis and design for critical infrastructure
• Fire modelling of offshore facilities
• Material investigations and detailed simulation in support of crash energy management systems
• Advanced fluid flow modelling for process facilities
• Seismic assessment and design
• Life sciences and human heart modelling
Background / Experience
Candidates must have a quality Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree, preferably in Engineering or a related subject and be able to demonstrate excellent understanding of fundamental principles and problem solving. Basic programming skills and knowledge of statistical techniques would be an advantage. An appetite to tackle new and interesting problems is essential.
The candidate should possess exceptional interpersonal skills, as well as oral and written communication skills, facilitating positive internal and client relationships. Excellent technical writing skills are required, as are exemplary engineering/scientific problem-solving abilities.
Prior industrial experience in a consulting role, including management of the client relationships, is preferred.
