Offshore Riser Designs
MMI Engineering provides consulting services to analyze and design different types of riser systems.
MMI’s strength includes a quick definition of riser configurations as well as a detailed design through structural analysis and structural mechanics. Both global and local responses of the riser systems are assessed by tools such as OrcaFlex, ABAQUS and ANSYS.
MMI Engineering has experience in the design of steel catenary risers, unbounded flexible risers and umbilicals located throughout the world and in shallow and deep water. We are involved in a complete project cycle from conceptual, front end engineering design (FEED), detailed design to subsequent support for offshore installation.
Our work experience includes stress, fatigue and durability analyses, installation analysis, and interference assessments of SCR and flexible risers. We have also performed the design of bend stiffeners and bend restrictors for flexible risers, and the specification of buoyancy and weight modules. Our analysis procedures are aimed at effective assessment of system performance as early in the design cycle as possible and efficient design through conceptual, preliminary and final system design. Detailed finite element analysis is performed, as necessary, to provide support for the component design and structural validation in the riser systems.
