The Hydrocarbon Passive Fire Protection Network (PFPNet) was launched in the UK last year via a one-day technical meeting in Manchester.  So far, Advanced Insulation, EXOVA, Hempel, HSE, Jotun Paints, Perenco, Promat, Sherwin Williams, Trelleborg and Woodside have joined the group.  Such commitment will enable PFPNet to embark upon its commitments for 2017, which include defining what fireproofing is, providing guidance on how to determine appropriate schemes, and working to establish an accreditation process.  You can find out more by visiting clicking here.

If you are in the states and would like to know more about PFPNet first-hand, the group will be hosting an introductory meeting in Houston on Wednesday 15th February from 12:00 – 18:00 (lunch will be provided and a drinks reception will conclude the afternoon).  Examples of companies registered include BP, CB&I, Fluor, Shell, Chevron, International Paint and NACE International. The event is free of charge, and to register your place, all you need to do is email Gemma Shackleton with your contact details (

We hope to see you there!
