MMI has been a member of the CCSA for a number of years, with Tony Byrne sitting in on the H&S and Environmental Working Groups.
The CCSA have recently appointed a new Chief Executive, following semi-retirement of the previous Chief Executive, Jeff Chapman. The new Chief Executive is Dr. Luke Warren, who has re-organised the working groups into four areas to further support current CCS initiatives. The four groups are as follows:-
- Policy & Regulation
- Technical
- Communications
- International
Tony will Co-Chair the Technical working group, which will involve liaising with H&SE, supporting technical developments, cost reduction, and covering technical and environmental issues, such as geological storage, pipelines, industrial CCS processes, transportation (pipelines, shipping), etc.
