Michael Hasson, a Principal Consultant based at MMI’s Northern Ireland office, will discuss a project involving the design of a novel energy-absorbing blast wall at an upcoming IMechE technical lecture.
MMI was asked to design a retrofit blast wall – capable of being installed during production, featuring novel components to ease construction and absorb energy in a controlled and predictable manner in the event of an explosion. By working closely with the client, the construction team, and a skilled fabricator, MMI devised a novel structure, which has been safely and successfully installed.
Michael will discuss the benefits of an integrated approach, physical testing, and careful planning.
The lecture will be held at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen on the 21st of January from 6-8pm.
