April 26th – 29th

MMI will be chairing, presenting and exhibiting at the Global Congress on Process Safety in Austin between April 26th and 29th.  The Global Congress is presented by both the CCPS (Center for Chemical Process Safety) and AIChE (American Institute of Chemical Engineers) and is now in its 11th year.  This annual event attracts industry, regulatory and academic practitioners from around the world.  We will be presenting a number of papers at the event:

CFD Modeling of LNG Spreading and Atmospheric Dispersion – Morgan Reed

The Human Factors Behind Inherently Safer Design of LNG Liquefaction Terminals – David Weimer

Blast Resistant Design and Retrofit of Buildings at Petrochemical Facilities – Paul Summers (this presentation will be recorded and broadcast on AIChE’s website)

Poster presentations include:

Numerical Modeling of Pool Fire inside an Offshore Methanol Storage Tank – Morgan Reed

Best Practice in Application of CAA CAP 437 Standards for Offshore Helicopter Landing Areas – Tim Jones/Morgan Reed

Eric Peterson will chair a number of sessions, including Group Chair for the Sustainable Engineering Forum, Chair for the Process Safety in Refineries session and Co-Chair for two panels entitled ‘Big Data Analytics’.
