11th Global Conference on Process Safety – Austin
April 26th – 29th
MMI will be chairing, presenting and exhibiting at the Global Congress on Process Safety in Austin between April 26th and 29th. The Global Congress is presented by both the CCPS (Center for Chemical Process Safety) and AIChE (American Institute of Chemical Engineers) and is now in its 11th year. This annual event attracts industry, regulatory and academic practitioners from around the world. We will be presenting a number of papers at the event:
CFD Modeling of LNG Spreading and Atmospheric Dispersion – Morgan Reed
The Human Factors Behind Inherently Safer Design of LNG Liquefaction Terminals – David Weimer
Blast Resistant Design and Retrofit of Buildings at Petrochemical Facilities – Paul Summers (this presentation will be recorded and broadcast on AIChE’s website)
Poster presentations include:
Numerical Modeling of Pool Fire inside an Offshore Methanol Storage Tank – Morgan Reed
Best Practice in Application of CAA CAP 437 Standards for Offshore Helicopter Landing Areas – Tim Jones/Morgan Reed
Eric Peterson will chair a number of sessions, including Group Chair for the Sustainable Engineering Forum, Chair for the Process Safety in Refineries session and Co-Chair for two panels entitled ‘Big Data Analytics’.
We will also be exhibiting, so please come and meet us at Booth 416.

Hazards 25 will provide a platform for sharing best practice and latest research on all aspects of chemical and process safety in Europe, helping attendees to manage and reduce risk more effectively. This leading process safety event will feature a mix of invited keynote speakers, oral and poster presentations, and a trade exhibition of process safety related products and services.
MMI is a Silver sponsor of the event for the 2nd year running and will be presenting posters as well as a paper on the 15th (Dispersion Modelling for Explosion Risk Analysis – Tim Jones).
We will also be exhibiting at the event – make sure you visit us at stand 37.
EICC (Edinburgh International Conference Centre)
Radioactive Materials Transport and Storage Conference and Exhibition
May 19th – 21st
RAMTrans 2015 is to be the Nuclear Institute’s tenth conference on Radioactive Materials Transport and Storage. This is a major event in the transport and storage calendar. Developers, users, regulators and stakeholders are invited to meet and discuss the challenges to be faced in meeting the demands of an ever more globalized radioactive materials industry.
MMI will be presenting a paper entitled: “CFD analysis of AGR spent fuel disposal container and long term prediction of its thermal behaviour and pressurization”.
We are also exhibiting, so make sure you look out for us.
Hazards Australasia – Brisbane
May 26th – 27th
The globally recognised event will see a mix of local and international speakers, oral and poster presentations, as well as a trade exhibition of process safety related products and services and gala dinner.
As Gold sponsors of the event, MMI will open the conference on the 27th. Garry Law, a Principal Consultant at MMI’s Melbournes office, will also present a paper entitled ‘Over The Top: Process Safety Lessons Related to Liquid Level in Process Vessels and Tanks‘.
